Propaganda Poster Project- Underage Drinking

For a school assignment we had to choose a current world situation and create a poster advocating for/against it. For this prompt I chose underage drinking. For this project, based on the research I found, I decided to focus on the affects of alcohol on the adolescent's brain/mental state. For the assignment we had to include a website where viewers could learn more about the cause/situation. The graphic is simple but impactful. I felt that posters should be more focused on the message it conveys over the details put in the graphics/elements. I used easy to read fonts and emphasized certain words to create a sense of balance in the color and to capture the viewers eyes to certain parts of the poster. The yellow on the brain is to convey the brain soaking up the alcohol. My instructor was confused at first on why I chose to make the brain look happy, and my reasoning for that was to express that the brain represents a child's brain, not just any brain. And it also conveys that children sometimes don't understand the harms of alcohol consumption and think of it as something 'fun' or not harmful.
